Sioux Falls, S.D. — After a strong performance this past Sunday and Monday at the Redbird Invitational, Catie Nekola was named Summit League Kwik Star Performer of the Week. 
 
Nekola scored a 216 (E) over three rounds in Illinois, with a 74 (+2), 71 (-1), and 71 (-1). She tallied seven birdies over her three rounds of play, and her performance earned her a second place individual finish. The team also finished in second place with their collective score.
 
Nekola was third in the field in par-4 scoring average at 4.00 and was tied for second on the par-5s at 4.75, playing those at -3 for the tournament.
 
South Dakota women's golf will be back in action September 22-23 (Monday-Tuesday) when they travel to Columbia, MO to compete in the Johnie Imes Invitational hosted by Mizzou.
