Team captain … one of 22 players in all of college football named to the AFCA Good Works Team and was one of four highlighted in a video by Allstate who announced the recipients would be given $10,000 to be put towards the charity of their choice … started 10 games at nose guard … totaled 21 tackles including a sack and 1.5 for loss … was also credited with two quarterback hurries … had four tackles in the season opener at Kansas (9/3) and a season-high five in the FCS playoff game against Southern Illinois (11/27) … had two tackles and recovered a fumble in the Valley opener at Missouri State (9/25) … aided a defense that ranked 24^th nationally against the run (121 ypg) and 35^th overall (343 ypg) … unit was the last team nationally to allow a rushing touchdown to a running back (game seven) … Coyotes ranked 23^rd nationally in scoring defense (20.7 ppg) … MVFC honor roll member

2020-21
Team Captain … Good Works Team nominee for the second consecutive year … season was reduced to four games in the spring due to COVID-19 ... started the first three games at defensive tackle before missing week four due to injury … totaled 16 tackles in those three games … had seven tackles including a strip sack that led to a field goal and a fumble recovery that led to a touchdown in the Coyotes’ 27-20 upset of No. 7 Illinois State in the season opener (2/27) … was not charged a year of eligibility due to NCAA rules related to the pandemic ... MVFC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award ... MVFC Honor Roll member

2019
Team captain ... one of 10 Coyotes who started all 12 games, he at defensive tackle … tied for the team lead and ranked 16^th in the Valley with 5.0 sacks … totaled 34 tackles in all with one pass breakup and four quarterback hurries … had a season-high seven tackles including a sack against 14^th-ranked Northern Iowa (10/19) … had two sacks in the team’s win against Youngstown St (11/9)

2018
One of 37 Coyotes who competed in all 11 games … started the final five games of the season at defensive tackle … compiled 11 tackles including a tackle for loss … was credited with three quarterback hurries … recovered a fumble in the fourth quarter against Southern Illinois in the conference opener that preserved the 31-24 victory ... MVFC Honor Roll member

2017

Prep
Whitcomb helped win North’s first state championship in football since 1963 and the team’s first state wrestling title since 1997 ... he was a two-time state champion on the gridiron where he served as a three-year letterwinner, a two-year starter and a senior captain in 2014 ... he earned honorable mention all-state honors in 2013 when he hauled in three touchdowns ... he caught four touchdowns as a senior ... on the mat, Whitcomb placed third at the 220-pound weight class at the 2014 state wrestling tournament ... he was a three-time academic all-state wrestler
