MAGNOLIA/CLARKSVILLE, ARK. -- The South Dakota Women's Tennis Team improved to 10-3 by splitting a pair of matches on Wednesday and Thursday. USD dropped a 6-3 decision to Southern Arkansas on Wednesday in Magnolia, Ark. The Coyotes then defeated University of Ozarks, 8-1, in Clarksville, Ark., on Thursday.

Against the University of Ozarks, the Coyotes picked up wins in five of the six singles matches and won all three doubles matchups. Among the highlights was Amanda Nicol (junior, East London, South Africa) who defeated Olivia Fischer, Ozarks, 5-7, 6-4, 10-4, at #1 singles. Also for USD Allie Hoffman of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Michelle Hogan of Rapid City, S.D., both won by 6-0, 6-0 verdicts.

Against Southern Arkansas, Amanda Barton of Aberdeen, S.D., picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win over Caitlin Korensek. Also, Hogan was a winner at #6 singles with a 6-3, 6-4 verdict against Candace Little. In addition, USD's #3 doubles team of Megan Arend of Sioux Falls and Allie Hoffman of Sioux Falls won by a 8-2 score.
