Box Score
DELAND, Fla.—South Dakota right fielder Morgan Hancock went 4-for-4 with two home runs, four RBIs and four runs scored in leading the Coyotes to a 13-2 win against Bethune-Cookman Sunday at Wilson Field in the fourth and final game of the Stetson Tournament.
Catcher Allie Daly also homered for the Coyotes, who scored four runs in the third, fourth and sixth innings. Daly was 2-for-3 with three RBIs Sunday. Designated hitter Yvon Minogue and shortstop Christine Broders added three hits each as South Dakota improved to 10-7 overall.
Daly and Hancock were both named to the all-tournament team. In four games, Daly was 6 of 11 with five RBIs and four runs scored. Hancock was 5 of 13 with four RBIs and six runs scored.
Sunday's offensive outburst was more than enough for USD freshman pitcher Rachel Cue (5-3), who pitched a complete game and surrendered one earned run. She allowed seven hits and struck out six against one walk.
The Coyotes depart DeLand and will make a two-hour trip to Winter Haven, Fla., where the team will spend Spring Break. USD will play 10 games in six days starting Monday with contests against Creighton and St. Peter's. Game times are 10 a.m. (CDT) and noon, respectively.
