Coyotes win border showdown with UND

GRAND FORKS, N.D.— South Dakota tennis received wins from its No. 3 through No. 6 players to top North Dakota 4-3 at the Choice Health and Fitness Center on Saturday afternoon.

Dragana Brankovic, Yuliya Sidenko, Alice Scott and Yamini Reddy all moved to 2-0 in dual matches this season by recording wins. Two of those players won in straight sets, as Sidenko topped Sophie Allen-Fisher 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 4 match and Reddy defeated Kathleen Preston 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 6 spot.

Scott added a 6-1, 4-6, 7-5 over Faith Lee in the No. 5 match, while Brankovic topped Mimi Yunker 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 at the No. 3 spot.

Outside gaining points in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, UND (1-2) swept all three doubles matches to earn its third point.

The Coyotes are now 2-0 under head coach Brett Barnett. They will play at Augustana on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
