SIOUX FALLS, S.D.— The South Dakota tennis team moved to 3-0 on the season after topping Augustana College 6-3 on Friday evening at the Woodlake Athletic Club.
Alice Scott, Yuliya Sidenko and Dragana Brankovic all moved to 3-0 in singles play this spring by tallying straight set wins. Brankovic won the No. 3 match with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Christine Olivo, Sidenko recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win over Berkley Darr at the No. 4 spot and Scott swept the No.5 match 7-5, 7-5 over Jenna Helleberg. Milica Pavlovic also recorded a win at the No. 2 spot, topping Sydney Postal 6-4, 6-2.
USD also tallied wins in two of the three doubles matches played. Scott teamed up with Rymma Maslova to defeat Olivo and Heather Sullivan 8-5, while Sidenko and Yamini Reddy topped Helleberg and Meredith Lawrence, 8-4.
South Dakota will host Western Illinois for its Summit League opener on Feb. 13. The match will be played in Sioux Falls.
