BROOKINGS, S.D.—South Dakota dropped a 4-3 decision to South Dakota State on Saturday in Brookings, S.D.
South Dakota State (11-6, 3-1 Summit) grabbed the doubles point and held a 1-0 advantage headed into singles play, where each team picked up three points.
South Dakota (7-8, 3-3 Summit) scored its three points in No. 2, No. 4 and No. 6 singles.
Undefeated in Summit League action, sophomore Yuliya Sidenko defeated Jackrabbit Ffion Davies 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 2 spot to improve her overall record to 14-1.
Sophomore Dragana Brankovic and senior Yamini Reddy are both on a two-game winning streak in league action. Brankovic scored 6-4, 6-1 to win at No. 4 and Reddy scored 6-4, 7-5 to win at the No. 6 spot.
The Coyotes travel to Colorado next weekend for a trio of matches in preparation for the Summit League tournament. First up, South Dakota plays Metro State at 10 a.m. Friday.
