Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

VERMILLION, S.D.--South Dakota freshman designated player Christy Warnock had five hits including a walk-off grand slam in game two as the Coyotes took two from Omaha Friday at Nygaard Field. Scores were 7-3 and 11-1 in six innings. Game three starts at noon Saturday.

Warnock entered play with four singles on the season. She was 5-for-7 against Omaha with four runs scored and notched her first collegiate double and home run. The Coyotes' 7-8-9 hitters, which include Shelby Keil, Taylor Steinfeldt and Warnock, combined to go 9-for-19 during the twin bill with two home runs, 10 RBIs and nine runs scored.

South Dakota senior catcher Allie Daly was 3-for-3 with two solo home runs in game two and was 5-for-6 during the two games. Daly has 12 home runs this season and 40 during her four-year career, which is the second most in program history.

The Coyotes (17-22-1, 8-3 Summit) scored three runs in the fifth and sixth innings of game one to erase a 2-1 deficit. First baseman Yvon Minogue tied the game at 2-2 with a bases-loaded single in the fifth and gave the Coyotes' a 7-2 lead with a two-run homer in the sixth. Minogue had five hits Friday including two doubles. Minogue leads the nation with a program-record 23 doubles this season.

Omaha (20-23, 5-6) scored a run in the top of the first inning of game two on a bases-loaded single by Megan May that plated Allie Matthewson. South Dakota center fielder Katie Dinning threw out Kelly Pattison at the plate on the play to end the inning. Matthewson had three of Omaha's six hits in game two and was 4-for-6 on the day.

Keil hit a no-doubt, two-run homer to left in the bottom of the second inning to give the Coyotes a 2-1 lead. It was the fifth homer of the year for Keil. Steinfeldt's two-run double in the third inning made it 4-1 and Warnock followed with an RBI single.

Daly homered in the fourth inning to make it 6-1 and made it 7-1 with another solo shot in the sixth. Warnock's two-out grand slam to center field was the winner.

Madison Frain (9-9) and Rachel Cue (7-12) pitched complete games for the Coyotes. Frain allowed three solo home runs in game one and struck out six. Cue struck out five and allowed six hits in the nightcap.

All nine South Dakota hitters had at least two hits on the day. Warnock, Daly and Minogue had five hits apiece. Matley Jones extended her hitting streak to 10 games and has reached base safely in 25 in a row. It's the second-double digit hitting streak of the season for Jones, who is batting .398 on the season.
