FORT WAYNE, Ind.—South Dakota's tennis season ended with a 4-0 loss to Denver in the Summit League Tournament semifinal match Saturday. The Coyotes conclude their season with an 8-11 overall record.
The Pioneers clinched the doubles point and added three singles match wins with straight sets. Denver's Maureen Slattery defeated junior Milica Pavlovic in the No. 1 spot (6-1, 6-1), while Julia O'Loughlin beat senior Rymma Maslova at No. 3 (6-2, 6-0) and Evy Van Genechten topped freshman Alice Scott at No. 5 (6-2, 6-3).
In doubles, Denver's Sonja Radosevic and Morgan Barnhill teamed up to defeat Maslova and Scott, 8-2. Slattery and O'Loughlin sealed the point with an 8-3 victory over Pavlovic and sophomore Yuliya Sidenko.
South Dakota ends the season in a fourth-place tie in the Summit League standings with a 3-4 record.
