2016 Nebraska Tune Up ResultsLINCOLN, Neb.—Five Coyotes won their respective events to wrap up the regular season at the Nebraska Tune Up on Friday inside the Devaney Sports Center.
Senior
Katie Wetzstein clocked 2 minutes, 11.47 seconds for a new personal best in winning the 800 meters. Wetzstein was followed by senior
Kati Nelson in 2:18.11 for third and freshman
Liz Bohn in 2:18.14 in fourth.
Senior
Teivaskie Lewin captured the 60-meter hurdles in 7.80 seconds, a time .03 seconds off his personal best.
Junior
Ashley Thompson jumped 38-6 ¼ to take the title in the triple jump.
Sophomore
Gawain Williams and senior
Analisa Huschle swept the men's and women's 60-meter dash. Williams won in 6.85 seconds and Huschle clocked 7.67 seconds. Freshman
Karina Dufoe finished fifth in 7.80.
Huschle also finished fifth in the long jump with a mark of 18-6.
Four Coyotes finished in the top five of the women's pole vault. Redshirt-junior
Hunter Wilkes cleared an indoor best 13-7 ¾ to finish runner-up. Senior
Emily Grove placed third after clearing her first bar of 13-3 ¾. Juniors
Madison Mills and
Emily Brigham both cleared 12-8 for fourth and fifth.
Sophomore
Brooke Ireland placed third in the 400 meters with a time of 56.96 seconds.
With new career bests in the mile, senior
Kelsey Barrett and sophomore
Lindsay Joyce placed fourth and fifth. Barrett crossed the line in 4:57.45 and Joyce finished in 4:59.44.
Redshirt-junior
Mach Dojiok was a second off his personal best in the mile, clocking 4:12.80 for third place.
The men's 4x400-meter relay, consisting of
Alex Williams,
Mario Magana,
Alex Borchers and
Brett Prenger, finished runner-up in 3:19.14.
Junior
Tyler Frank placed third in the high jump after clearing 6-8 ¾.
Sophomore
Ethan Fenchel threw the weight 54-9 ½ for fifth place.
The Coyote track and field teams travel to Fort Wayne, Ind., for the Summit League Indoor Championships on Feb. 26-27.
