LOS ANGELES—South Dakota track and field athletes set six new personal-best marks at the Cal State L.A. Twilight on Thursday at Jesse Owens Track.

The Coyotes packed a 1-2 punch in the women's 1,500-meter run with freshman Liz Bohn and junior Jessica Feldman. Bohn raced to a new personal best of 4:39.89 with a 73-second final lap to win it. Feldman also clocked a new personal best of 4:41.79. Feldman and Bohn returned three events later to record 2:21 for 800 meters for sixth and seventh place, respectively.

South Dakota's Kaleb Ellis won his first outdoor competition of the season. The freshman captured the pole vault title with a height of 15-0. Ellis' winning mark was six inches higher than the runner-up.

The Coyote men's 4x100-meter relay clocked the second-fastest time in school history at 40.77 seconds. Senior Jeff O'Connell led off, senior Teivaskie Lewin and freshman Joe Reagan ran middle legs and sophomore Gawain Williams anchored. The Coyotes best time this season of 40.15 seconds ranks 39th nationally.
