LOS ANGELES—South Dakota track and field athletes set six new personal-best marks at the Cal State L.A. Twilight on Thursday at Jesse Owens Track.
The Coyotes packed a 1-2 punch in the women's 1,500-meter run with freshman
Liz Bohn and junior
Jessica Feldman. Bohn raced to a new personal best of 4:39.89 with a 73-second final lap to win it. Feldman also clocked a new personal best of 4:41.79. Feldman and Bohn returned three events later to record 2:21 for 800 meters for sixth and seventh place, respectively.
South Dakota's
Kaleb Ellis won his first outdoor competition of the season. The freshman captured the pole vault title with a height of 15-0. Ellis' winning mark was six inches higher than the runner-up.
The Coyote men's 4x100-meter relay clocked the second-fastest time in school history at 40.77 seconds. Senior

Gawain Williams anchored. The Coyotes best time this season of 40.15 seconds ranks 39th nationally.
Sophomore
Brooke Ireland clocked 57.26 in the 400 meters for a team-leading season best time in the event and fourth place at the meet. Ireland returned to record a time of 25.85 for 200 meters.
Junior
Ashley Thompson raced to a slightly wind-aided personal best of 14.58 seconds in the 100 hurdles. Thompson took sixth in the event.
Freshman
Brennan Schmidt placed fifth in the 400 meters with a time of 49.43. He also recorded a wind-aided 22.34 seconds for a new 200 meter personal best. He was joined in both events by classmate
Mario Magana, who took eighth in the 400 meters in 49.83 seconds and 18th in the 200 meters with a personal best of 22.16.
Freshman
Julia Junkroski and senior
Janelle Noga each cleared 12 feet in the pole vault for sixth and seventh place, respectively.
Freshman
Karina Dufoe captured ninth place in the 200 meters in 25.00 seconds and set a personal best of 12.22 seconds in the 100 meters for 14th place.
The Coyotes continue competition tomorrow at the Mt. SAC Relays and the Long Beach Invitational.
