2016 Sioux City Meet Results

SIOUX CITY, Iowa—South Dakota sophomore Lindsay Joyce captured her second event of the Sioux City Relays Saturday at Olsen Stadium.
 
A native of Sioux City, Iowa, Joyce captured the 1,500 meters in 4 minutes, 43.17 seconds. The time is one hundredth of a second off her personal best set earlier this spring at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. Joyce won the 800 meters with a personal best 2:16.34 last night. Freshman Madeline Huglen clocked a season best 4:50.52 for fourth in the race.
 
Sophomore Ethan Fenchel sent the discus 170-03 to lead the Coyotes to a sweep of the event. Fenchel's discus mark ranks fifth in school history. USD record holder and Coyote alum Cody Snyder finished runner-up to Fenchel in 169-00. Junior Dustin Valind took third in 162-08.
 
Senior Meghan Dennis won the javelin with a throw of 144-01. Junior Amelia Miller launched a nine foot personal best to take third in 140-11.
 
Junior Danielle Waldner was the top collegiate in the shot put and second overall. Waldner launched the shot 51-11 ¼. Senior Meghan Dennis placed third in 47-04 ¼ and senior Kayla Johnson was fourth in 44-09 ½.
 
South Dakota's women were victorious in the 4x100-meter relay in 49.44 seconds and the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:44.61. Junior Courtney Albrecht came out of the blocks, sophomore Cami Brenner and freshman Alanisse Williams ran middle legs, and junior Ravan Kott anchored the relays to titles.
 
Kott and Albrecht took second and fourth, respectively, in the open 100 meter dash. Kott clocked 12.46 seconds and Albrecht finished in 12.89.
 
The Coyotes finished runner-up in the men's and women's hurdles. Junior Jay Cooper clocked 14.79 seconds for 110 hurdles and Williams finished the 100 hurdles in 15.15 seconds. Freshman Haley Bruggeman took fourth in 15.52 seconds.
 
Senior Connor Fitzsimmons finished fourth in the long jump with a leap of 22-01 ½.
 
Freshman Nate Wendt took fifth in the 1,500 meters in 4:01.85.
 
South Dakota also grabbed runner-up performances in the men's 4x200 relay and the women's sprint medley.
