SIOUX FALLS, S.D.—South Dakota captured four events Friday at the 91st Howard Wood Dakota Relays at Howard Wood Stadium. Two Coyote alum and an assistant coach also grabbed event titles.
Junior
Tyler Frank cleared an outdoor best 6 feet, 11 ¾ inches to win the high jump. The mark moves him to the top of the Summit League charts this season. Senior
Jeff O'Connell tied for third after jumping 6-6 ¾.

Brooke Ireland captured the 400 meters in 55.82 seconds. Her time is .07 away from her personal best. The Coyotes swept second through fourth on the men's side with three new personal bests. Freshman
Brennan Schmidt finished runner-up in 48.39 seconds to lead the way. Freshman
Mario Magana followed in 48.44 for third and freshman
Brett Prenger was fourth in 48.59.
Senior
Meghan Dennis threw 148-3 to win the javelin. Junior
Amelia Miller took third in 131-3 and classmate
Elizabeth Szymonski was fourth in 130-1.
Junior
Danielle Waldner was the top collegiate and third overall in the hammer throw with a mark of 175-3.
The women's 4x100-meter relay finished runner-up in 47.35. Junior

Ashley Thompson placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 40-11.
The Coyotes took runner-up finishes in the men's and women's 200 meters. Williams crossed the line in 21.61 seconds and Huschle clocked 24.23 seconds.
Junior
Dustin Valind threw a season best 172-9 to finish as the top collegiate and second overall in the discus throw.
Sophomores
Bailey Oettel and
Erin Wetzstein finished second and third in the 5,000 meters. Oettel clocked 17:52.03 and Wetzstein followed close behind in 17:53.57.
Junior
Emily Brigham placed third in the pole vault after clearing 13-3 ½.
Assistant throws coach A.G. Krueger won the hammer throw in 229-5. Volunteer assistant coach and former Coyote
Cody Snyder won the discus in 181-7. Former Coyote
Brant Haase won the 5,000 meters in 14:50.79.
