2017 Drake Relays Friday Results
DES MOINES, Iowa—South Dakota junior
Shanice Cannigan finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles and freshman
Samara Spencer placed sixth in the long jump to highlight Coyotes in action on Friday at the 108th Drake Relays inside Drake Stadium.
Cannigan, who is one of two USD athletes to clock under a minute in the 400 hurdles, finished just off that mark in 1:00.99. Cannigan's season best of 1:00.42 ranks second in the Summit League and 41st in the NCAA West Region this spring.
Spencer leaped 18-11 ¾ on her first attempt for a mark that held up in sixth place. Spencer passed her three jumps in finals to compete on USD's 4x100-meter relay. The relay, with additional legs from sophomore

The South Dakota men's 4x400-meter relay posted a season best of 3:20.22. Senior

For the fifth-fastest time in USD history, the women's 4x800-meter relay crossed the finish line 9:15.60. Sophomore

Rachael Zeiger tallied the four relay legs. The school record of 9:03.65 was set at the Drake Relays a year ago.

South Dakota wraps up the final day of the Drake Relays at 9 a.m. Saturday.
