South Dakota plays the third game of a four-game homestand Wednesday hosting Western Illinois at 7 p.m. inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. The Coyotes began their Summit League title defense with an 82-71 victory over Denver.

Fans can get half price tickets in the student section while USD students are on break. Senior citizens can receive a ticket for half price. The game with Western Illinois is also a BOGO Wednesday, where fans can buy one ticket and receive another of equal or lesser value for half price.

The Game
The Coyotes are 1-0 in the Summit League for the second-straight year and hold a 13-4 record. Western Illinois is 8-4 overall and will be playing their Summit League opener.

South Dakota is 7-0 inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center this season and have won seven-straight Summit League games dating back to last season.
The two squads played three times last year, including an overtime affair in the Summit League Tournament.
Matt Mooney tallied 24 points in the contest as the Coyotes held off a pesky Leatherneck squad by outscoring WIU 10-1 in the extra period.

The Leathernecks
Western Illinois is 8-4 on the year, equaling its win total from last season. Seven of those wins came on its home floor in Macomb. Senior Dalan Ancrum leads the Leathernecks with 16 points per game. Kobe Webster, a true freshman, averages 14 points and five assists per game.

The Leathernecks own the league's top field goal percentage, making 50.5 percent of their shot attempts while leading the Summit League in field goal percentage defense at 39.9 percent.

Leading the all-time series 9-7, the Coyotes have won three-straight meetings and seven-of-eight dating back to the 2013-14 season. The Coyotes are 5-2 against Western Illinois in Vermillion.

South Dakota looks to go 2-0 in the Summit League for just the second time. The only previous time it happened was the 2013-14 campaign when the Coyotes claimed victories over Denver and IUPUI to open league play.
