The South Dakota men's basketball team closes a four-game homestand hosting North Dakota State Saturday at 1 p.m. The Coyotes are 8-0 inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center this year and have won eight-straight Summit League games dating back to last season.

The Game
North Dakota State is the only opponent to have claimed a victory against South Dakota inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. That was a 70-69 game on Jan. 11, 2017. The Coyotes returned the favor on Feb. 4, handing the Bison their first Summit League loss on their new floor.

The Bison
North Dakota State was picked third in the preseason Summit League poll and owns an 8-7 overall record. The Bison opened Summit League action Wednesday with an 87-80 setback to South Dakota State. Paul Miller scored a team-high 36 points on 11-of-22 shooting, sinking seven long-range baskets.

Miller leads the Bison with 17.7 points per game while Tyson Ward adds 10.7 points and a team-high 6.2 rebounds per contest.

The Coyotes
South Dakota, 14-4 on the year and 2-0 in Summit League action, is riding a three-game win streak and has taken seven of its last eight games dating back to Dec. 6. The Coyotes continued their winning ways with a 62-50 victory over Western Illinois this past Wednesday.
Matt Mooney tallied a team-high 14 points while
Trey Burch-Manning had a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Mooney leads the team with 17.4 points per game while
Tyler Hagedorn adds 13.7 points per contest. Burch-Manning leads the team with 7.2 rebounds per game. Burch-Manning's double-double against WIU was his second of the season and fifth of his Coyote career.

The Series
Dating back to the 1922-23 season, NDSU leads the series 94-74 but the Coyotes have the edge in Vermillion winning 46 times and dropping 34 games.

One Last Thing
In the latest NCAA stats release, South Dakota has tallied 14 wins, one of six Division I programs in the nation to have at least 14 wins. Xavier and Michigan State each have 15 wins while Purdue, Saint Mary's and Nevada join the Coyotes on the list with 14 victories. Twenty other programs have 13 wins on their resume to this point in the season.
