BROOKINGS, S.D.—South Dakota captured six individual events on Friday at the SDSU Holiday Open inside the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
South Dakota sits second in the women's team standings with 123 points. Minnesota leads with 147.5 points, while third-place South Dakota State has 53. The Coyotes are third in the men's team race with 75 points.
Freshman
Dylan Kautz, a four-time Nebraska state champion in the 100 and 200 meters, captured his inaugural collegiate race. He clocked 6.83 seconds to win the 60 meters and stamp his name on USD's record books. The time is tied for the sixth-fastest in USD's indoor history.
Moving her success on the cross country green to the track, senior
Abby Ripperda won the 3,000 meters on Friday night. She clocked a personal best 9:56.15. Junior
Jonna Bart took third behind her teammate in 10:15.79.
Coyote cross country runners swept the first two spots in the men's and women's mile. Junior
Kallo Arno won the mile in 4:30.64, while freshman
Braden Peters finished runner-up in 4:33.05. Sophomore
Haley Arens took gold on the women's side in 5:14.72 with freshman
Helen Gould just behind in 5:16.07.
Chris Nilsen debuted his senior campaign with a pole vault victory in 17-6 ¾.
The Coyote women swept the top-six spots in the women's pole vault. Senior
Helen Falda won with a vault of 12-11 ½, while junior
Landon Kemp cleared the same height for second place. Sophomore
Deidra Marrison finished third in 12-5 ½.
Another Coyote debut in the sprints was freshman
Brithton Senior's runner-up performance in the 60-meter hurdles. His time of 8.12 seconds is the third-fastest in program history behind NCAA Division I All-American
Teivaskie Lewin and Division II National Champion Terry Liggins.
Junior
Callie Henrich launched the weight throw a four-foot personal best of 62-2 to finish runner-up. She moves to second in USD history with the throw.
Senior
Zack Anderson finished runner-up in the high jump to fellow two-time All-American Michael Burke from Minnesota. Anderson cleared 6-10 ¾ while Burke won on the next bar of 7-0 ¾. Sophomore
Jack Durst placed third, also making 6-10 ¾.
Making her Coyote debut, freshman
Carly Haring finished runner-up in the high jump after clearing 5-7. Senior
Britny Kerr placed third with the same height. Both move into a tie for eighth on USD's top-10 list.

Aleksi Rosler improved his indoor best for 200 meters, clocking 22.36 seconds to place second.

Danielle Thompson finished runner-up in the 300-meter run with a time of 41.70 seconds. Senior
Carmen Bermudez was just behind in 41.77 for third.

Tasheka Gordon placed third in the 60 meters in 7.67 seconds.
