SIOUX FALLS – South Dakota women's tennis player
Natka Kmošková has been named Summit League women's tennis athlete of the week the league announced on Tuesday.
Kmoskova, a freshman, had a strong week in helping the Coyotes post a 4-0 dual mark during their spring trip in Orlando, Florida.
Kmoskova posted a 3-0 singles mark during the week, playing two matches at No. 2 and one at No. 1 singles. She combined with senior
Anastasiia Bondarenko at No. 1 doubles to win two matches.
"Natka had a great week for us in Florida," coach
Brett Barnett said. "She's been playing better and better as of late and did a nice job finding a way out of some tricky spots last week.
"She played really strong doubles with Bondarenko as well. With her continued improvement she's going to have a great last half of the year for us."
She earned singles wins at No. 2 over Findlay and Hampton while posting a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles against Minnesota State. She was leading in a fourth singles match 7-5, 4-1 when the team match was complete and thus did not finish her individual match.
On the season, the native of Pardubice, Czech Republic, has a 3-7 singles record and a 3-5 doubles mark.
The Coyotes begin Summit League play with Saturday's match at Denver.
