VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota director of track and field and cross country
Lucky Huber is pleased to announce the additions of Carmen Bohl, Erin Duke, Ardell Inlay, Kamberlyn Lamer, Hugo Morvan, Lily Provenzano and Brithon Senior to the Coyotes for 2019-20.
Carmen Bohl | Distance | Garretson, S.D. | Garretson High School
A five-time place-winner at the South Dakota Class A Cross Country Championships, Carmen Bohl helped the Blue Dragons capture the state title as an eighth grader in 2013. She also ran on the runner-up team in 2012. Bohl holds the Garretson High School record for the 3,200-meter run with a clocking of 11:42. Additional personal bests include 19:40 for 5,000 meters on the cross country course and 5:26 for the 1,600 meters. Bohl also played basketball for the Blue Dragons. A member of the National Honor Society, Bohl plans to major in elementary education at South Dakota.
Erin Duke | Distance | King, N.C. | West Stokes High School
A five-time all-state honoree on the track, Erin Duke took home the bronze in the 800 meters at the North Carolina 2A State Championships in 2017 and 2018. She won 800 meters at the regional meet the same two seasons. Duke also garnered nine all-Western Piedmont Athletic Conference honors in her high school career split amongst the cross country, indoor track and outdoor track seasons. She holds personal bests of 2:19 for 800 meters, 5:27 for 1,600 meters and 19:56 for 5,000 meters on the cross country course. A member of the National Honor Society, Duke plans to enter the nursing program at South Dakota.
Ardell Inlay | Sprints | Sioux City, Iowa | East High School
The 2019 Drake Relays champion in the 100 meters, Ardell Inlay edged out the competition by .002 to take home his first Drake flag with a clocking of 10.878 seconds. Inlay took home a quartet of top-three finishes on the track at the 2019 Iowa Class 4A Track and Field Championships. He finished runner-up in the 200 meters, placed third in the 100 meters and anchored both the 4x100-meter and 4x200-meter relays to third place. Inlay was the runner-up in the 100 meters at the state meet the year prior as well. He graduated with Sioux City East High School program records for both the 100 meters (10.75 seconds) and 200 meters (21.71 seconds). Inlay also played football and baseball for the Black Raiders. An honor roll student, Inlay plans to major in chemistry at South Dakota.
Kamberlyn Lamer | Multis | Colton, S.D. | Dakota Wesleyan
Coming off an NAIA championship in the heptathlon this spring, Kamberlyn Lamer will join the Coyotes as a graduate transfer from Dakota Wesleyan. The Colton, South Dakota, native won national titles in both the pentathlon and heptathlon at DWU while also garnering All-America status in the triple jump. Lamer was the 2019 NAIA Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year. She won numerous Great Plains Athletic Conference titles in her career across a multitude of events ranging from the pentathlon, heptathlon, 60-meter hurdles, 100-meter hurdles and triple jump. Lamer competed in track and field, volleyball and cheerleading at Tri-Valley High School. The city of Mitchell created a proclamation that June 3, 2019, was named Kamberlyn Lamer day. Lamer plans to pursue a master's degree in kinesiology and sport management at South Dakota.
Hugo Morvan | Hurdles | Vannes, France | Lycee Charles de Gaulle
Hailing from Vannes, France, Hugo Morvan represented Team France at the ISF School Summer Games in Morocco. He holds personal bests of 7.90 seconds for 60-meter hurdles and 13.98 seconds for 110-meter hurdles. He captured several state and regional championships in France. Morvan plans to major in physics at South Dakota.
Lily Provenzano | Distance | Minneapolis, Minn. | Hopkins High School
A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Lily Provenzano received honorable mention all-Lake Conference two years in a row on the cross country course. She was a member of Hopkins High School's varsity squad for all four seasons with a personal bests of 19:54 for 5,000 meters. Provenzano qualified for the Minnesota state synchronized swimming championships twice in her high school career. She also participated in cross country skiing. An honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society, Provenzano plans to major in finance or political science at South Dakota.
Brithton Senior | Hurdles | Hanover, Jamaica | Rusea's High School
Continuing the Jamaican pipeline from Hanover, Brithton Senior is a four-time Western Championships 110-meter hurdle champion. He also took gold in the 400-meter hurdles in 2017. Senior placed second in the 110 hurdles at the Jamaican National Championships, going on to represent the black, gold and green at the 2017 World Youth Championships in Nairobi, Kenya. He also raced for Team Jamaica at the Carifta Games in 2018. Senior holds personal bests of 13.59 seconds for the 110 hurdles and 53.18 seconds for the 400 hurdles. He plans to study kinesiology and sport management at South Dakota.
This group joins the 27 student-athletes that were added last fall and in the spring.
