Coyotes sign Keaton Kutcher

MBB: Signing Day

VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota head coach Todd Lee is pleased to announce the signing of Keaton Kutcher to a National Letter of Intent. Kutcher will join the Coyotes in the 2021-22 season.

"Keaton is an outstanding basketball player but most importantly a tremendous young man. It is important to recruit local and Keaton is an eastern Iowa kid," Lee said. "He is an elite level shooter and will be able to stretch the defense with his ability to shoot the ball from deep. Keaton comes to us with some familiarity to the Summit League, as his dad played basketball at Western Illinois."

Kutcher, a 6'2 guard from Mount Vernon, Iowa, signs with the Coyotes ahead of his senior season at Mount Vernon where he is already a 1,000-point scorer for the Mustangs. Kutcher has earned all-conference honors in his three seasons thus far and all-state honors twice. He helped lead the Mustangs to a conference championship and a state tournament berth in his first three seasons. Kutcher has been a three year starter for Mount Vernon and will look to end his senior season in Des Moines at the state tournament. Kutcher played his AAU ball with the Martins Bros. He is undecided on major.

"Keaton has been all in on us from the start of his recruitment and that was a really big deal for our program as well," Lee said. "On the floor and off of it, he brings values that we believe in as a program: toughness, love of the game, and all about team success first. Keaton is a winner and we are so excited to officially welcome him to the Coyote Family!"

Kutcher is the first addition to the 2021-22 class.
