Coyotes add Havlickova

TEN: Signee

VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota women's tennis coach Brett Barnett is pleased to announce that Bea Havlickova will be joining the Coyotes roster in the fall as part of the 2021 recruiting class.

Havlickova, who hails from Louny, Czech Republic, will enroll at South Dakota in the fall as a freshman and plans to study nursing.

"I am really excited to welcome Bea into our Coyote tennis family," coach Brett Barnett said. "She is a very driven young woman that will fit in great with our team culture and excel both on and off the court for South Dakota. I could tell right away that she is very passionate about tennis and will thrive in a team environment."

Havlickova, who stands 5-foot-8, has had a very successful junior career, ranking in the top 10 in the Czech Republic and reaching the semifinals of the 2019 Czech under-18 championships.

"Havlickova has been as high as a 10.7 UTR and is the highest rated player we have ever signed," said Barnett. "She has proven herself to be one of the top juniors in the Czech Republic and holds wins over Top 100 ITF players and has multiple 10+ UTR wins.

"I know she will be able to make an impact here immediately! Bea is a very strong all court player that does a great job taking balls early and looking to move inside the court. She can be very crafty as well with her drop shot and being able to mix in a nice slice. Bea has such a high upside and I cannot wait to get her on campus in the fall to start further developing her game and working with the team!"
