Senior men's basketball player Stanley Umude and women's basketball alumna Madison McKeever are the guests on this week's "YoteCast," the official podcast of Coyote athletics hosted by John Thayer.
 
Umude entered rarified air when he notched his 1,000^th career point in a recent game against Nebraska. He talks about hitting that milestone, how the team is trying to make a push this week at the Dakota Showcase in Sioux Falls, and how COVID has impacted the season thus far. Umude also talks about professional basketball, his thoughts on meeting Summit League teams an extra time throughout the year, and what he hopes Coyote fans will remember about him.
 
McKeever returned to the Sanford Coyote Sports Center Sunday to take part in a banner ceremony and ring presentation that commemorated the Coyotes' achievements from last season. She talks to Thayer about the experience and emotions from Sunday and the moments that stand out from her career. She also dives into her new chapter as an assistant coach at Concordia-St. Paul, the moment she wanted to be a coach, and what it's like to have a younger sister competing in the same league.
 
But we start as we always do with Athletic Director David Herbster, who opines on the start of the college basketball season and what he and his staff learned from the first home basketball game of the season. He also talks about the upcoming Dakota Showcase and something he's done this year that he hasn't done in any year prior.
