Tyler Hagedorn has been named a first-team all-Summit League honoree while junior guard
Stanley Umude earned second-team all-Summit League honors the league announced Thursday at the Summit League Tip-Off press conference.
Hagedorn earns first-team honors after leading the Coyotes with 19.0 points and 6.6 rebounds over the course of 16 league games. The Norfolk, Nebraska, native set a career-high in points against Texas Southern and set a Summit League record in the process going 8-of-8 from beyond the arc for 33 points. Hagedorn has recorded four double-doubles this season and has scored 20 or more points in 12 contests while hitting double digits on 28 occasions this season.
Hagedorn finished the conference season ranked fifth in scoring and rebounds per game while leading the conference and the nation from deep at 51.4 percent.
Umude earned second-team honors after averaging 17.1 points and 6.0 rebounds in conference play, which is second on the team behind Hagedorn. The San Antonio, Texas, native ranked second in the Summit in blocked shots, ninth in scoring and eighth in rebounds per game. Umude has scored in double-figures in all but four games this season while recording 20 or more points nine times. He has also recorded five double-digit rebounding games as well as five double-doubles this season.
South Dakota opens play at the Summit League Tournament on Sunday against North Dakota. Tipoff from the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls is slated for 8:30 p.m.
