SIOUX FALLS, S.D.—A total of 214 University of South Dakota student-athletes combined for 236 selections to the Summit League Academic Honor Roll announced Tuesday by the league office. A remarkable 75 percent of USD student-athletes who compete within The Summit League are members of the Academic Honor Roll.
The Coyotes' 236 selections came in 14 Summit League sports. Of those 14 sports, South Dakota had the highest number of selections from within the conference. South Dakota State had the second-most with 226 selections and North Dakota State was third with 171.
USD women's swimming and diving (31), women's cross country (19), women's basketball (13) and men's basketball (7) led the league in total numbers in their respective sports. Women's track and field (58), men's swimming and diving (20) and volleyball (14) ranked second while men's track and field (23) ranked third.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 grade point average for the academic year awarded and have used a season of competition in the sport in which the student-athlete is nominated.
