The Coyotes
South Dakota has been led by a flurry of new faces this fall after a canceled 2020 season. This weekend it will be two freshmen and a veteran representing the Coyotes in Utah.
Leah Drengenberg will be the first up, racing in the NCAA Division I race on Saturday afternoon. She was the first All-American in program history, placing third at the national meet in 2019. Drengenberg was USD's fourth finisher last time out at the East Regional.
Andrea Cernuda and
Ella Perras will both race in the Junior Women's Sprint race on Sunday morning. Cernuda was the Coyotes' third runner at the Pleasant Prairie Regional back in September.
The History
This is the first time the Coyotes have raced in the state of Utah.
One Last Thing
The USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships are just two weeks out. In the program's first two seasons, the Coyotes finished runner-up at the national meet (2018, 2019).
