VERMILLION, S.D..—South Dakota women's basketball is ranked No. 21 in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll released Tuesday evening. This marks the Coyotes' 75th consecutive week in the poll dating back to the 2017-18 season.
South Dakota is the lone Summit League representative in this week's poll. The South Dakota State Jackrabbits fell out of the poll for the first time this season.
The Coyotes (6-4) will take a four-game winning streak on the road with them to Creighton this Thursday. USD's defense has been stellar as of late, holding back-to-back Missouri Valley foes under 40 points. It marked the first time a Coyote team has held back-to-back Division I opponents under 40 points and the second time overall since 1976.
USD is led by fifth-year senior
Chloe Lamb (15.4) and sixth-year senior
Hannah Sjerven (14.7) in scoring. Fifth-year senior
Liv Korngable joins them in double-figures with 11.5 points a game.
Next up for the Coyotes is the final nonconference game of the season, with South Dakota traveling to Creighton Thursday for a 6:30 p.m. tip-off at D.J. Sokol Arena in Omaha, Nebraska. The Coyote women start the Summit slate on the road at Oral Roberts on Dec. 20.
