VERMILLION, S.D. – The South Dakota women's golf team will compete in the GCU Invitational Monday and Tuesday. The Yotes wil play at the GCU Championship Golf Course in Phoenix, Arizona. Day one will be a par 72, 6,171 yards while day two will be 6,095 yards.
The field includes 15 teams with USD being one of the 15. Fellow Summit League member North Dakota State will also be competing alongside the Yotes in the GCU Invitational.
The Yotes will feature a lineup that includes junior
Laerke Jensen, freshmen
Akari Hayashi and
Danica Badura and juniors
Julia Hall and
Emma Sabbagh.
USD will compete at GCU for the first time since the 2015-16 season. This will be the second tournament of the season for the Coyote women. Last week the Yotes finished fifth in their first tournament of the season in Florida. Jensen earned Summit League golfer of the week for her performance at the Amelia Island Collegiate. She tied for the 14
th place after recording rounds of 71, 74 and 84 for a total of 229. The 71 in the first round was a new career low in a round and her second round of par or below in her career.
The tournament tees off on Monday with a 8 a.m. shotgun start (Phoenix time) and will have rounds one and two completed. The final round will be on Tuesday.
