VERMILLION, S.D.—Registration for South Dakota's track and field summer camp is available now. The July 23rd camp will feature the throws and distance running.
The one-day camp will last from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with two sets of skill sessions, a lunch, and a core circuit. Lunch will be provided, but campers will need to bring their own water bottle, implements and sunscreen.
The throws camp is open to grades 6-12 and will cover all four collegiate throwing events – the shot put, discus, javelin and hammer. Throwers will learn from three-time Olympian and South Dakota throws coach
A.G. Kruger.
The distance camp is open to grades 9-12 and in addition to distance running will include a steeplechase skill session. Runners will learn from five-time Summit League Cross Country Coach of the Year
Dan Fitzsimmons.
The cost of attendance is $100 for advanced registration and $125 for day-of walk-up campers. To register, parents can return the attached brochure to USD track & field or sign up online here.
