The South Dakota men's golf team will play its final tournament of the fall schedule this weekend at the Grandover Collegiate in Greensboro, North Carolina. The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Saturday followed by a final round of 18 holes on Sunday. The event will be held at the Grandover Resort's West Course and play as a par 72 while covering 6,800 yards.
The Coyotes will see plenty of new competition at this weekend's tournament. South Dakota is the farthest team west with most of the field consisting of east coast teams. There are six teams inside Golfweek's top-125 ranking competing at this event. Duke leads the field at 39 with UNC-Greensboro at 62, Harvard at 107, Davidson at 114, George Washington at 117, and Elon at 125.
Both days of this event will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. ET.
South Dakota adds a key bag to its lineup following the return of
Ben Hicks to the team. Hicks had missed the last three tournaments due to injury. The lineup includes
Max Schmidtke,
Hunter Rebrovich, Bryce Hammer,
Nick LaMotte, and Hicks.
Ryan Neff will compete as an individual at this event.
The Coyotes are on the heels of a seventh-place finish at the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational. The team had three finish inside the top-10 individually. Schmidtke led the team with a tie for sixth-place followed by Rebrovich's and LaMotte's tie for 10th place.
