Final tune-up set for Friday at Nebraska

The Meet

South Dakota track and field is slated to compete at the Nebraska Tune-Up Friday at Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. Field events are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. while running events get underway at 2:15 p.m.

The Coyotes

South Dakota picked up three of four Summit League Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors this past week. Second-year freshman Eerik Haamer cleared a season-best 18-1 (5.51m) at the Ichabod Mid-Week Challenge to move to seventh in the NCAA this season. Haamer is one of just three Summit League athletes currently in position to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Two weeks of qualifying remain, capped off by the conference meet weekend. Third-year sophomore Gen Hirata also cleared a season-best in the vault, clearing 14-2 ¾ (4.43m) for her second career Summit field athlete of the week honor. Second-year freshman Sara Reifenrath picked up her eighth career Summit track weekly award after running a leg of a record-breaking 4x400-meter relay. The quartet of Moe Bridgen, Jacy Pulse, Reifenrath and Anna Robinson combined for a time of 3:43.12 to break a 24-year-old school record.
