South Dakota sends a pair of Estonians to represent the program at the national meet.
 
Second-year freshman Eerik Haamer, hailing from Tartu, Estonia, competes at his second-straight indoor national meet. Haamer enters the meet with the eighth-best height. He cleared a season-best of 18-1 (5.51m) at the Ichabod Mid-Week Challenge in February. Last season, he entered the championship with the eighth-best mark and finished in fourth place for All-America first team status. He cleared his indoor best of 18-4 ½ (5.60m) at that 2021 NCAA Championship meet. Haamer's competition gets underway at 3 p.m. Friday.
 
Freshman Marleen Mülla, a native of Rakvere, Estonia, punched her ticket to her first NCAA Championships with a personal best performance at the Summit League Championships. She vaulted 14-5 ¼ (4.40m) for the 11th-best height in the nation. Mülla's competition is scheduled to begin at approximately 6:45 p.m. Friday.
 
One Last Thing
Haamer and Mülla swept the men's and women's pole vault titles at the Summit League Championships. South Dakota is one of four schools to send both a male and female vaulter to the national meet, joining BYU, Stephen F. Austin and Michigan State.
