Broström added to Coyote Roster

South Dakota head coach Eric Peterson introduced his fourth signing to the 2022-23 roster on Monday in Felix Broström. Broström is a 6-8 forward from Gothenburg, Sweden, and will join the Coyotes next fall.

"Felix is the perfect fit as he adds more versatility, shooting, and playmaking to our program," said Peterson. "At 6-8, he has the ability to play and guard multiple positions. We couldn't be more excited to welcome Felix and his family to South Dakota."

Broström compiled a list of achievements in his high school years. He was a part of Rig Mark elite academy in Sweden and was a member of the Swedish national team from the under-15 team to the under-18 team. Broström earned a Most Improved Player award and a Player of the Year award in his high school career. He closed out his senior year by being selected to the Young Guns Invitational All-Star Team and collected the Best Scorer Award at the Junior International Tournament Lissone in 2022.

In his 2021-22 season, Broström averaged 21.4 points per game, 1.3 assists per game, and hauled in 7.5 rebounds per game. He shot 55.6 percent from the floor including a 46.8 percent mark from three-point land. He sank 72 threes in 22 games last season which was the most three-pointers made in the Swedish second division. Of his 22 games last season, Broström recorded 20 points or more 13 times including a season-high of 33 points.

Broström is the son of Robert and Beatrice Broström. He will enter as a freshman in the fall of 2022 and plans to study psychology at South Dakota.
