South Dakota men's and women's track and field heads to Minneapolis, Minnesota to compete in the two-day Jack Johnson Classic inside the Minnesota Fieldhouse.
THE COYOTES
South Dakota women come in off a team championship at the Jim Emmerich Invitational where they won 12 of the 16 events and piled up 224 points.
The Coyote men finished third, led by
Marshall Faurot, the Summit League leader in the pole vault and this week's Men's Field Peak Performer of the Week after his season-best clearance of 17-2.75.
Delaney Smith was named Summit Women's Field Peak Performer for her efforts in Brookings, where she unleashed a 66-4.5 throw in the weight throw to move to the top of the Summit League charts.
Erin Kinney, named the Summit Women's Track Peak Performer for the second consecutive week after setting the school and meet record in the 60-meter dash in 7.35 seconds, the top time in the Summit League.
South Dakota women currently lead the Summit League in seven events plus the 4x400 meter relay while the men's team accounts for two Summit League top marks as
Landon Olson owns the best high jump clearance at 6-10.75.
Danii Anglin owns the indoor school record and top mark in the Summit League in the high jump at 6-1.25.
Marleen Mulla leads the strong contingent of women's pole vaulters with a Summit best of 14-3.25.
Meredith Clark has a best of 49-0.75 to pace the women's shop put leaderboard.
Jacy Pulse owns the top time in the league in the 400 (54.29) and
Abrielle Jirele is atop the 3,000-meter leaderboard with her best thus far of 9:51.28.
THE COMPETITION
Teams competing this weekend include Omaha, Minnesota, Wartburg, Milwaukee, St. Thomas, Iowa Central, Wisconsin-River Falls, Minnesota-Duluth, Regina.

South Dakota returns to the DakotaDome to host the Alumni Meet on Saturday, Feb. 4.
