VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota women's basketball, which was not receiving votes a week ago, jumped into the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll released Tuesday night.
The Coyotes are ranked No. 24 in the mid-major poll and receiving 72 votes. South Dakota is off to the program's best start since 2020, entering conference play with a 10-3 record.
USD has finished the season ranked in the top-25 of the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll seven times in 11 years at the Division I level, twice finishing the year as the No. 1 ranked mid-major.
South Dakota resumes play on Friday, Dec. 29, with the Summit League opener against North Dakota State. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
