VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota women's basketball moved to No. 21 in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll released Tuesday night. The Coyotes gained 54 votes and moved up three spots from a week ago when the squad first entered the poll.
South Dakota (10-3) enters Summit League play at the top of the league standings for the first time since the 2019-20 season.
USD has finished the season ranked in the top-25 of the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll seven times in 11 years at the Division I level, twice finishing the year as the No. 1 ranked mid-major.
South Dakota resumes play on Friday, Dec. 29, with the Summit League opener against North Dakota State. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
