South Dakota finished Monday's second round at the Loyola Intercollegiate with a team score of 297 and in 19th place. It was seven strokes better than their first-score score.
Ben Hicks led the Coyotes with his first under-par performance of the season.
Hicks recorded a one-under par 71 in day two. He started the day with a birdie on his first hole and proceeded to card three more in his round. Hicks' round not only was a season low but was also his lowest round since the 2019-20 season. With a four-over par score through two rounds, Hicks is in a tie for 58th place individually.
Max Schmidtke bounced back with a two-over par 74 on Monday. His two birdies of the day came on the back nine on the par-four 10th hole and the par-five 14th hole. Schmidtke is in a tie for 87th place at nine-over through two rounds.
Bryce Hammer and
Logan Hamak both recorded four-over par 76's in round two. Hammer had three birdies on the day while Hamak's one birdie came on the par-five ninth hole. Hamak recorded a clean front nine with eight pars and one birdie. Hamak is in a tie for 79th place while Hammer is in a tie for 87th place after two rounds.
Hunter Rebrovich scored a nine-over par 81 on day two. Rebrovich's two birdies of the day came on the front nine on the second hole and ninth hole. Rebrovich sits in a tie for 97th place after round two.
Ryan Neff scored an 82 on Monday. He is in 107th place after two rounds.
The third and final round gets underway tomorrow at 7:45 a.m. MT. Tuesday's round will be a shotgun start from Palm Valley Golf Club.
