Track and field in Texas for week two

The Meet

South Dakota track and field travels to Texas for the weekend with the squad scheduled to compete at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, and the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas, from Thursday through Sunday.

The Coyotes

It's already week two for South Dakota and the Coyotes hit the road again for more elite competition. Five men, 12 women and three relays qualified for the 95th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. A larger squad will also compete at the nearby Bobcat Invitational hosted by Texas State.

South Dakota picked up three of four Summit League weekly awards last time out. USD swept the men's and women's track athlete of the week behind record-setting performances from Merga Gemeda and Erin Kinney. Gemeda broke the school's record in the 10,000 meters at North Carolina State, while Kinney ran on the Coyotes' record-breaking 4x100 relay and clocked a personal best in the open 100 meters at San Diego State. Marleen Mülla had another 14-foot vault to pick up the league's field athlete of the week honor.
