AUSTIN, Texas—South Dakota junior
Jacy Pulse clocked the program's second-fastest time for the 400-meter hurdles on Thursday afternoon to open action at the 95th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
Pulse crossed the finish line in a new personal best of 58.25 seconds, a mark less than a second off the South Dakota school record held by Alexa Duling (2012). She narrowly missed finals, placing 11th in a field that included runners from the SEC, ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 and Pac 12 conferences.
Junior
Abrielle Jirele finished sixth in section A of the women's 1,500 meters. She clocked a time of 4:27.68, which is four seconds off her personal best.
In section B of the women's and men's pole vault, junior
Jaidyn Garrett finished runner-up in the women's field in 13-7 ¼ (4.15m) and fourth-year junior
Marshall Faurot took seventh on the men's side in 16-11 (5.16m).

Lydia Knapp took 19th overall in the women's hammer throw with a toss of 189-2 (57.67).
South Dakota resumes action at the Texas Relays on Friday at 9:35 a.m. Members of the Coyote track and field squad are also scheduled to compete at the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas, on Friday beginning at 1 p.m.
