The Meet
The South Dakota cross country squads will get an early glimpse at the conference championship course on Friday night at the SDSU Classic held at Edgebrook Golf Course in Brookings, South Dakota. The women's 5,000 meters begins at 6:40 p.m. with the Jay Dirksen men's 8,000 meters to follow at 7:20 p.m.
The Coyotes
South Dakota is fresh off the Augustana Twilight that showcased a handful of newcomers standing out for the Coyotes. Freshman
Madison Brouwer led the way for the women, placing eighth in her collegiate debut with a 5,000-meter time of 17:52.97. Sophomore transfer
Carson Lauterbach led USD's men in the four-mile race with a time of 20:51.70.

Abrielle Jirele, who led the Coyotes at four meets last fall. Also expected to make their season debut are seniors
Ella Byers and
Abby Ripperda, both of whom have been regular in the Coyotes' scoring five during their Coyote careers. On the men's side, junior
Mason Sindelar will put on a Coyote uniform for the first time in 10 months after redshirting the track and field season.
The Competition
In addition to the Coyotes and host South Dakota State, the field is expected to include North Dakota State, North Dakota and Augustana.
