LINCOLN, Neb.—There was no rust to kick off for junior
Sara Reifenrath as she busted out a Summit-leading 54.14 seconds to win the 400 meters on Saturday at the Mark Colligan Memorial held inside the Devaney Center.
Reifenrath's time is just over a half-second shy of her own South Dakota school record set in 2021. In addition to the Summit lead, the time ranks 16th nationally. Saturday marked the first time Reifenrath posted a mark for the open 400 meters since the 2022 season.
The Coyotes won seven events in all at the Mark Colligan Memorial. The women finished runner-up to host Nebraska with 132.5 points to the Huskers' 177.5. The Coyote men finished third with 94 points.
Juniors
Erin Kinney and
Jacy Pulse were a one-two punch in both the 60- and 200-meter dashes. Kinney swept the races with season-bests of 7.33 seconds in the 60 meters and 24.47 seconds in the 200 meters. She improved her Summit-leading time in the 60 meters, moving to 22nd nationally in the event. Pulse was right on her heels, clocking a career-best 7.65 seconds in the 60 meters and then 24.47 seconds in the 200 meters.

Madison Jochum, Kinney and Reifenrath took first in 3:42.97. The time is seven-hundredths of a second off the South Dakota program record set in 2022.
Junior
Luke Olson captured the men's 800-meter run in 1:53.19 with classmate
Dylan Blake behind him in 1:55.53.
The Coyotes swept the top-three of the women's and men's pole competitions. Junior
Cassidy Mooneyhan took the women's crown in 13-7 ¾ (4.16m) and senior
Marshall Faurot won the men's competition in 17-3 (5.26m). Junior
Jaidyn Garrett and senior
Gen Hirata finished second and third, respectively, on the women's side with both clearing 13-1 ¾ (4.01m). Junior
Eerik Haamer finished runner-up on the men's side with a second-attempt make of 17-3 (5.26m) and junior
Spencer Buley was third in 16-9 ¼ (5.11m).
Senior
Dylan Kautz was edged out by two-thousandths of a second in the men's 60-meter dash. He finished runner-up in 6.84 seconds.
Junior
Danii Anglin finished runner-up in the women's high jump with a season-best clearance of 5-8 (1.73m). Her mark ranks second in the Summit this season.
Sophomore
Bennett Schwenn added a runner-up performance in the long jump with a leap of 23-6 (7.16m).
Freshman
Madison Brouwer made her debut on the track by clocking the fourth-fastest mile time in USD program history. She placed third in the women's mile race in 4:52.29. Teammates
Abrielle Jirele and
Ella Byers were just behind with both finishing with sub-five minute miles. Brouwer returned an hour later with a runner-up finish in the 600 meters, clocking 1:36.26.
Jirele doubled back in the 3,000 meters, placing third in the race with a time of 9:54.42.
Junior
Averi Schmeichel took third in the women's 60-meter hurdles in 8.53 seconds.
Junior
Ken-Mark Minkovski took third in the men's 200 meters in 21.81 seconds.
Junior
Joe Lynch tied for third in the men's high jump with a make of 6-9 ¾ (2.08m).
In a competitive women's shot put competition, senior
Meredith Clark launched the shot put a personal best 51-2 ¾ (15.61m) for fifth place. The mark moved her to second in school history.
