Yotes wrap up regular season at Nebraska Tune-Up

The Meet

The South Dakota track and field squad wraps up the regular season Friday with the Nebraska Tune-Up at the Devaney Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. Field events begin at noon with running events starting at 12:30 p.m.

The Coyotes

It's the final regular season meet for South Dakota as the squad looks to improve seed times for the Summit League Championships and for postseason qualifying marks.

Fourth-year junior Sara Reifenrath and sophomore Bennett Schwenn are the reigning Summit League Peak Performers of the Week presented by TicketSmarter. Reifenrath broke a pair of records last weekend at the Tyson Invitational, besting her own school record in the 400 meters (52.95 seconds) and then anchoring the record-setting 4x400-meter relay. Schwenn recorded a big personal best in the long jump, leaping 24-8 ¼ (7.52m) for the second-best mark in school history.

The Coyotes regroup this weekend after spending last weekend split between three meets across the country.

The Competition

The field this weekend includes athletes from South Dakota, host Nebraska, Northwestern, Oregon, Omaha, Creighton and more.

Up Next

The postseason gets underway with the Summit League Championships held in Fargo, North Dakota, on Feb. 23-24.
