ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.— South Dakota sits in fourth place in an eighteen-team field after day one of the World Golf Village Collegiate in St. Augustine, Florida.Â
Max Schmidtke leads the Yotes with a score of 2-under par, good for a tie for eighth place. The Coyotes had a team score of 3-over par when play was suspended due to darkness late in the second round.Â

Schmidtke was one of three Coyotes in the top 20 when play was suspended. He finished the first round with an even par 72. In the second round, Schmidtke had three birdies and just one bogey through fifteen holes. He sat at 2-under par overall as play was suspended.Â

Logan Hamak was one stroke behind Schmidtke at 1-under par overall, good for a tie for 11
th place. Hamak netted six birdies in round one and added two more in round two with three holes still to play.Â
Nick LaMotte rounds out the Coyotes in the top 20. He is tied for 16
th place with an overall score of even par. He was very consistent today with four birdies over the two rounds.Â

Freshman
Cole Witherow sits in a tie for 50
th place with an overall score of 6-over par. He was 3-over par in the first round and sits at 3-over par in the second with two holes left to play.Â
Ryan Neff is currently tied for 95
th with an overall score of 11-over par. He shot 4-over par in the first round and sits at 7-over par in round two with one hole left.Â

Two Coyotes are playing as individuals in this tournament. Freshman
Joe Rohlwing is currently tied for 50
th with an overall score of 6-over par. He had USD's lone eagle on the day, which he nabbed on the par-5 18
th hole in round two. Freshman
Parker Etzel has an overall score of 18-over par.Â

Jacksonville State leads the field at 9-under par.  The Gamecocks' Erik Jansson leads the field with a blistering 14-under par score, eight strokes ahead of his nearest competition.Â
