The Weekend
The South Dakota women's triathlon team travels to Clermont, Florida, to compete in the two-day Clermont Draft Legal NCAA Super Sprint March 2-3.
The weekend's races will be held at Lake Louisa State Park as a part of the Clermont Draft Legal. Both Saturday and Sunday's women's races will be at 11 a.m. and will consist of a 375-meter swim, 10-kilometer bike ride and a two-and-a-half-kilometer run. The venue will host the 2024 national championships.
The Coyotes
The last time the Coyotes competed was in the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships where the team placed eighth.
Juniors
Kayla Ribbink and
Grace Busch placed 48th and 49th in the national race, respectively. This weekend they will be joined by
Verena Vesely,
Ella Perras,
Franziska Neck,
Ella Spitz and
Lulu Ehinger in the NCAA Super Sprint.
The Competition
South Dakota will be competing against 15 other universities including Arizona State University which secured their seventh consecutive national title in November.
The University of Denver will also compete this weekend, following their fourth-place finish at nationals. Denver's Maria Carreau took home the individual title with a time of 1:03:22.06.
