CLERMONT, Fla.—
Kayla Ribbink led the Coyote triathlon squad at the Clermont Draft Legal NCAA Super Sprint on March 2-3, placing in the top five both days.
On Saturday, Ribbink came in third in the NCAA Women's Super Sprint with a time of 34:11, only 56 seconds away from the first-place finisher, Zoe Van Dijk.
Franziska Neck and
Ella Perras stayed close together, finishing 16th and 17th respectively. The Coyotes rounded out their first day of competition with
Ella Spitz in 22nd,
Verena Vesely in 23rd and
Lulu Ehinger in 26th.
The race was half the distance of the regular season with a 375-meter swim, 10-kilometer bike ride and a 2.5-kilometer run.
Grace Busch was the only Coyote to compete in the NTDR race both days. On Saturday, she finished 25th with a time of 1:06:22 and Sunday she improved to 18th out of 68 competitors.
The second day of races had two Coyotes make top 10 in the Super Sprint with Ribbink in fourth and Vesely in eighth. Perras finished 27th. Spitz finished 28th and Ehinger finished 32nd in Sunday's sprint.
