BOSTON—South Dakota fifth-year senior
Marshall Faurot garnered All-America first team honors in the men's pole vault on Friday at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships held at The Track at New Balance.
Faurot placed eighth in the competition with a clearance of 17-8 ½ (5.40m). The fifth-year senior garners his first career All-America accolades and becomes the first Coyote on the men's side to garner first team honors since 2021. Faurot vaulted a personal best of 18-1 ¼ (5.52m) to win the Summit League Championships two weeks ago, earning a qualifying spot for the national meet in a tie for the 12th-best seed mark. He was also named the Summit League Most Outstanding Performer of the Championship this season.
Junior
Marleen Mülla garnered second team All-America accolades in the women's pole vault, tying for 11th place with a clearance of 14-1 ¼ (4.30m). She surpassed 14 feet for the fourth time of the season with the make. Mülla picks up her fifth career All-America honor in the vault with the performance.
South Dakota turns its attention to the outdoor season beginning with the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, March 28-30.
