VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota women's tennis coach
Brett Barnett is pleased to announce the addition of Coco Elise Lynn-Browne to the roster ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Â
Lynn-Browne, a native of Dublin, Ireland, comes to South Dakota having been the top ranked player in her country from the ages of 12-16 and was ranked either No. 1 or No. 2 in the 18-under division.
Â
"Our team and program got stronger today with Coco signing and becoming a Coyote next fall," Barnett Said. "We're getting a player that has been at the top of the Irish rankings throughout her junior career.Â
Â
"She is a very well-rounded player that will fit in great here. She is a great ball striker and has the ability to hurt you from either side from the back of the court."
Â
Lynn-Browne represented Ireland in the under 18 European Championships in 2023 and has competed in the Four Nations Tournaments representing Ireland at U12, U14 and U18 levels.
Â
She has reached the semifinals and finals of several juniors tournaments in Portugal, Greece and Ireland.
Â
"Coco is extremely athletic, moves well and looks to get inside the court and can finish off points at the net," added Barnett. "She's a very strong doubles player and her style of play meshes very well with ours.Â
Â
"Coco has always had limited playing opportunities back home and I know she is excited to get here and have a strong group of players to train with each day. Her best tennis is ahead of her, and I can't wait to start working with her in August."
