Jacy Pulse won the 400-meter hurdles and the women's 4x400-meter relay shattered South Dakota's school record to highlight Saturday's elite action at the Mt. SAC Relays inside Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
Pulse took the tape in the women's elite invitational 400-meter hurdles in a near-record time of 56.17 seconds. She moves up to fifth in the nation this spring. She finished as a second-team All-American in the event last spring after clocking a personal record 56.11 at the NCAA West Preliminaries to reach the national meet. Pulse is South Dakota's school record-holder in the 400 hurdles.

Sara Reifenrath finished runner-up in the elite invitational section of the 4x400-meter relay after crossing the finish line in 3:34.44. The time bests last year's school record time by more than six seconds. Unofficially, Pulse split 52.03 seconds and Reifenrath anchored in 52.75 seconds. The quartet's time ranks 23rd in the nation this spring.
The women's 4x100-meter relay of Kinney, Pulse, junior
Averi Schmeichel and Reifenrath took 11th in the elite invitational section of the event with a clocking of 44.80 seconds. The same quartet posted a new school record last weekend at the South Dakota Challenge with a mark of 44.39.
Kinney and fifth-year senior
Dylan Kautz were invited to the women's and men's elite invitational 100 meters, respectively. Kinney clocked a time of 11.57 seconds and Kautz posted a time of 10.61 seconds.
South Dakota returns to the Midwest for the Drake Relays next weekend at the big blue oval in Des Moines, Iowa.
