VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota men's basketball announced the addition of Cameron Fens to the 2024-25 roster. Fens is a 7-0 center from the University of Illinois-Chicago.

Fens spent the past two seasons at UIC, where he played in 53 games and made 15 starts. As a true freshman, Fens made 12 starts in 31 appearances, averaging 10.8 minutes per game.

The Dubuque, Iowa, native prepped at Hempstead High School where he averaged a double-double as a senior with 18.7 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. Fens, a first-team all-state and all-conference selection, also brought down 272 rebounds in his senior season, breaking the previous single-season school record of 263.

The son of Ginny and Randy Fens, Fens plans to major in business administration at South Dakota.
