What they're saying about Carrie Eighmey…

Dawn Plitzuweit, Minnesota Head Coach
I had a chance to get to know Coach Eighmey over the past few years, both as a coach and as a recruiter. I think you are absolutely going to love getting to know her and her staff.

Amy Williams, Nebraska Head Coach
Congratulations to Coach Eighmey on becoming the next head coach of Coyote women's basketball! Coyote Nation and the Vermillion community are so special and Coach Eighmey is going to thrive in that supportive environment.

Tony Hobson, Former Hastings/Fort Hays State Head Coach
As a player, Carrie was a hard worker that got the most out of her ability. This, added to her ability to lead and prepare, made her a great player. These attributes carried over to her coaching career and have made her a success. I coached Carrie for four years, had her as an assistant for eight years and coached against her for eight years. She is a competitor that will give everything she has to produce a winner.

Michaela Barry, Hastings/Kearney '18
Coach Eighmey is a fierce competitor driven to lead student-athletes reaching their goals. She is a strong motivator and a patient teacher allowing her to put her teams in position to perform at their best. Coach cares about each of her players and uses basketball as a platform to help them grow and succeed on the court and in their future. Coach truly inspired me to not only be a better basketball player, but to be better in every aspect of my life. I am excited to see the positive impact Coach Eighmey has on the USD women's basketball program!

Jamie (Van Kirk) Rapp, Hastings '15 Assistant Coach at UNK in 2015-16
Coach Eighmey is one of a kind. It's rare to come across a head coach like her. She is the fiercest competitor you'll ever meet, but also desires to better the lives of her players off the court. She works to make deeper connections with her players and while she loves to win, developing successful women in life is her ultimate goal. There's no better person to put yourself in the presence of! If you want to be pushed as an athlete, while always getting the truth from your head coach, and learn the habits of someone who has known nothing but success, go play for Carrie Eighmey!

Coach Carrie is passionate about basketball and genuinely cares about building relationships with her players. She invests so much time and effort in creating a positive culture that will translate onto the basketball court. She challenges her players to be their best every day and seeks ways that she can be better as well. As a former player, I can confidently say that she made such a positive impact on my life and helped foster my love for basketball.

It's shown in the way she leads with consistency and integrity, how she carefully fosters a program culture founded on unity and discipline, and the way she dives into a community with genuine passion. She has a love and knowledge of the game of basketball that is unmatched. Coach Carrie knows how to win, and she does it the right way.
