VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota women's basketball coach Carrie Eighmey has announced the addition of graduate transfer Adara Groman from the University of New Hampshire. She will join the Coyotes for her final season of eligibility.
"We are thrilled to welcome Adara to the Coyote family," said Eighmey. "Adara is an experienced guard who can attack the paint. She's an elite cutter and also has the ability to hit shots."
A 5-foot-8 combo guard hailing from Scituate, Massachusetts, Groman brings four years of collegiate experience to Vermillion. She tallied 682 points and 276 rebounds in 104 games with New Hampshire, making the America East all-rookie team in 2021. She's tallied a pair of 20-point games with a career-best 23 points against NJIT in 2023. Groman plans to pursue a master's degree in interdisciplinary studies while utilizing her bonus COVID year at South Dakota.
Groman split her prep career between Berwick Academy and Worcester Academy with 1,890 career points. She was named a New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) all-star three times and helped Worcester capture two NEPSAC championship titles. She left Berwick Academy as the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,198 points.
In addition, Groman has been a member of two gold-medal USA teams at the Maccabi Games, taking place in Budapest (2019) and Israel (2022).
Groman is the eighth newcomer added to the Coyotes' 2024-25 roster. Other newcomers include Hanna Coons (Kiefer, Oklahoma), Ava Cossette (Maple Grove, Minnesota), Madison Hillman (St. Ansgar, Iowa), Karly Jusczak (Pine City, Minnesota), Ruthie Loomis-Goltl (Bridgeport, Nebraska), Viki Matulevicius (Willowbrook, Illinois) and Gabby Wilke (Beaver Dam, Wisconsin).
